Program Elements

Poses & Movement

Students practice yoga poses and other styles of movement through games, stories, songs and engaging activities. 

Our poses and movement are designed specifically for the development needs of each age group and include a mixture of structured and creative, play-based activities.

Focus & Mindfulness

Mindfulness creates space for children to change impulsive reactions to thoughtful responses. 

Our students cultivate mindfulness through activities that encourage them to slow down, be in the moment, cut out distractions, and focus and sustain their attention.

Breath & Energy

Students practice awareness and control of their breath, learning to take deep breaths to help balance their energy and deal with strong emotions.

Calm & Relaxation

Our students wind down at the end of the class by taking time to be still and quiet. 

Spending a few minutes relaxing on their mats, listening to music and focusing on calming objects helps them to practice peacefully transitioning to their next activity. 

Fun & Joy

We believe children learn more when they are having fun. 

Children enjoy kids yoga and want to come back and keep learning.

Sommer Khachadourian Director/Instructor

Sommer is a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 and is certified in the fundamentals of kids yoga through The Little Yoga House in Austin, TX. She has practiced yoga for over 25 years and has been teaching yoga to students of all ages since 2019. In 2022, she opened Yoga Shapes to help children and adults experience wellness and build life-long healthful habits through yoga and mindfulness. A mother of two energetic boys, Sommer also practices yoga with her family to help keep up with their busy and active lives.
